HUGS FOR DAVID Z

By: Lish "Rockin" Green

               8/6/17

On 8/1 The ultimate Jam Night at the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, CA, payed tribute to David Zablidowsky, better known to the music world as David Z. David, 38 was killed in a horrific accident in Florida on July 14th, for full details go to this link for Tampa Bay News

David previously played in such bands as Z02, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and with Jeff Scott Soto in his solo band Soto.

So, on Tuesday 8/1/17, musicians from all over gathered at The Whisky's Ultimate Jam Night to pay tribute.

I arrived early, I wanted to make sure to get in, I knew it was going to be an incredible night and an emotional one as well. so many times throughout the night, i was close to being brought to tears by friends and musicians who knew David personally and told marvelous stories of playing with or meeting and what a great guy he was. AND my world was opened up to such a great line of musicians that if not for this cause I would not have known otherwise. Of course some i knew of very well and have seen numerous times.

Here's an example, First of all I moved back to California in November of 2015 and have been going to Ultimate Jam Night since then and Paulie Z, I always knew him as the MC, had no idea what a awesome guitar player and singer he actually is...(and by the way, Paulie is also David's brother and was in the band ZO2 as well with David).

Some other musicians as well in attendance were, Sean McNabb, Mitch Perry, members of Trans Siberian Orcestra, Jeff Scott Soto, Bruce Kulick, Rikki Rocket, Richie Kotzen, Dee and Jesse Snider, Marq Torien, Mike Portnoy, Mark McGarth, Billy Sheehan, Bumblefoot, Joe Retta, Chuck Wright, Matt Starr, Dug Pinnick and so many more...Sebastian bach, wasn't able to sing because of a recent surgery, but did say a few words...There were just so many, family, friends and musicians there to show their support...ALL IN THE NAME OF ROCK N ROLL AND FELLOW MUSICIAN DAVID Z...RIP...

All the photos I did take, didn't really turn out, I did get a few videos and borrowed some really awesome photos, so be sure to look below the videos...Sean McNabb, Paulie Z, Dee and Jesse Snider(father, son and grandson)
